Bluefield Joiners is a company dedicated to producing the finest custom architectural woodworking. We specialize in, but are not limited to, traditional Japanese timber framed structures, shoji screens, tea houses and accessories. All of our products are made with the finest hard and soft woods available using a combination of machine and hand tool techniques. Connections are made using tried and true joinery methods including draw-bored mortise and tenons, dovetails and scarf joints. Products are finished using Japanese hand planes which leave a smooth, glasslike surface. This process is available for large structures as well as interior furniture.
